“Though written constitutions may be violated in moments of passion or delusion, they furnish a text to which those who are watchful may again rally….”– Thomas Jefferson

Retired Judge Darrell WhiteAs Americans, we enjoy the benefit of living under the longest enduring written constitution in the history of recorded civilization. That anchor gives us hope for the future!  Welcome to the website of Retired Judges of America.  Pictured left is Retired Judge Darrell White, RJA’s Founder.

It is to the integrity of our Constitution’s text and how it should be interpreted that the Retired Judges of America and this website are dedicated. Relevant comments from many fellow Americans – past and present – are presented for thoughtful consideration.

If you are a retired or former judge and subscribe to RJA’s mission statement, you are invited to lend your voice to the national debate over how America’s grand Constitution should be interpreted for “ourselves and our posterity.” After all, our profession’s reputation is at stake!

Quotable

“If the moral character of a people once degenerate, their political character must soon follow…. These considerations should lead to an attentive solicitude…to be religiously careful in our choice of all public officers… and judge of the tree by its fruits.” — Elias Boudinot, (President of Continental Congress), 1793
