Homosexuality must, by definition, be, biologically, a mutation or a choice since they cannot reproduce. In either case, it cannot be described as “normal.” If it is a mutation of nature, then it is inescapable but not “normal.” If it is a mutation, then there has to be a gene associated with homosexuality. No such gene has been found although the entire human genome has been mapped. Therefore, it must be a choice. Homosexuality is defined by the actions of the person, not that person’s state of being. Should pedophilia be a protected sexual orientation? The same criteria can be applied. The APA has made a political decision, not a scientific one.
